CIPE
Center For Intellectual Property Education
The Center for Intellectual Property Education (CIPE) is established in 2006, as specialized unit of the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus”- Skopje for education, research and advice in the field of Intellectual Property Law. It was formed by reorganizing of the Center for Industrial Property Education, established in 2004.

The Center for Intellectual Property Education has the following tasks:
  • Obtaining and transferring knowledge and skills in the field of Intellectual Property Law,
  • Development and promotion of the Intellectual Property Law, as a legal science
  • Development and promotion of the standards for Intellectual Property rights enforcement.

The role and tasks of the CIPE are accomplished through:
  • Organizing continuous education (seminars, work-shops, courses, etc) for increasing the knowledge and expertise on Intellectual Property Law of institutions, organizations, and individuals.
  • Scientific, developmental practical research in the field of Intellectual Property Law,
  • Organizing and conducting scientific and specialized applicable activities,
  • Preparing and publishing publications in the filed of Intellectual Property Law,
  • Establishing cooperation with national and international organizations and educational and scientific institutions, and other forms of international cooperation, independently and through the Faculty, and
  • other activities.

Head of the CIPE is Professor Mirjana Polenak Akimovska PhD.
Under the auspices of CIPE, the project “Towards EU Copyrights and Neighbouring Rights Standards” (TEMPUS JEP 19076-2004) is being implemented, while the project “EU Industrial Property Law – Institution Building” (TEMPUS JEP 17029-2002) is successfully finished. Both projects are financed by the TEMPUS Programme and are designated on strengthening of the institutions for protection of Intellectual Property Law.

CIPE is a member of the Global Network of Intellectual Property Academies of the Word Intellectual Property Organization.
